limerick tri time trial results week 4 sponsored by PJ Mathews

A great evening of racing was had by all last night, in the glorious conditions on the limerick tri tt league course with some huge personal best performances.
a huge group of 35 athletes lined up to take on the challenging course but none where quicker than returning champion mike storan of west clare cc, who was over a minute quicker than his nearest rival Rene Van Dam of DMG Cycling team.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the European Duathlon Championships over the weekend - athletes, volunteers, marshalls +++. It was great to see our own member Brian Jenkins take victory in the Open event, congrats Brian. Mark grabbed a third place and final podium spot on the difficult racing circuit whihc involves 2 beach runs and a hard bike section
there was also a lot of other limerick tri folk partaking in the race so well done to all who makde the trip and showed off the limerick tri club gear with pride

Season opener - TryLaois
The first triathlon of 2011 took place on Saturday with the pool based TryLaois hosted by Trilogy Triathlon club in Portlaoise. LTC athletes taking part included Brian O'Shaughnessy who came home in a fantastic 5th, Noel Keane in 14th and Graham Power 20th. The event was easily won by Shane Scully of Nenagh.

Mike Yelverton lead the way for team ltc at the Ennis Duathlon from the off mike looked to be in control which bouds well for his u23 elite particpation this week. the green white and gold of ireland will be behind you mike, all the best

A great turn out of over 30 riders took to the start line under the shadow of the club clock, each and every rider set off in pursuit of not only a new personal best but in hope of making it back in time for the coke and chocolate awaiting them at the finish line :)
