The swim will consist of 30 lengths of UL's 50 meter pool.

Run

Run  -  5km (1 lap for Try-athlon) 10 Km (2 laps) Std distance race

• A lap course starting and finishing at the transition area
• Water station at 1.5 miles and/or at transition area finish.

As mentioned previously the proposed run section is the same as last years. See the enclosed link for details and below for explanation.  The route described below measures 5km. There will be one lap for the novice race and two for the standard distance race. http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/ireland/limerick/671713857. Select satellite and you can see the run course clearly.

• Exit the transition area, turn right and proceed straight towards the main UL entrance
• At the roundabout after the pedestrian crossing take a right turn staying on the road – marshals will be in place to warn traffic
• Proceed straight ahead past the fountain outside the Schuman building and take the left turn onto the gravel path leading to the river bank walk.
• Once reaching the riverbank turn right towards ‘black bridge’
• Turn left crossing the ‘black bridge’ and proceed straight along the gravel path until reaching the road.
• Turn right at the road and take the next right turn and proceed towards the new campus
• Follow marking tape – to be put in place for the race – around left of new ‘Music and Dance Academy Building’(under construction)  onto ‘Living Bridge’. Cross the bridge and proceed through courtyard.
• Upon exiting the courtyard take a right turn down the hill around rear entrance to Foundation building.
• Proceed to take left turn at fountain outside Schuman building and return via the footpath at the roundabout back to the arena.

PRIZES
Prize giving will take place immediately after the race in the UL Arena Sports Club.
We would encourage as many athletes as possible to attend, you may think you are not in the running but there are thirty prizes so you never know!
