The competitors that record the fastest outright time in their category for the league will receive Lazer X3M Helmet.

Points will be awarded to the top 10 competitors in each category each night.  A competitors best 5 results will make up their points total at the end of the league. In the Ladies, Veterans and Senior Category points will be based on actual times.

In the Elite Category a handicap system will operate. This is being introduced to make the category more competitive. All competitors best recorded time for 2007 will be used to formulate the handicap which will operate as follows:

Vincent Gleeson’s best recorded time for 2007 will be used as the Elite standard of 24 mins 41 secs.

The difference between a riders best time in 2007 and the elite standard will be their handicap allowance to be applied to their 2008 time, e.g. Rider X best time of 27.41 in 2007. Handicap allowance is 3mins  (24.41 minus 27.41)  in 2008. Rider X records a time of 27mins in week 1, his time will be reduced by 3 mins to give a derived time of 24 mins. Elite results will be based on derived times, except for Vincent Gleeson whose time will be his actual recorded time. Points will be awarded to the leading 10 competitors each night. In addition 3, 2 and 1 points will be awarded to the Three Fastest elite riders each night based on Actual times. In theory it’s possible for an elite competitor to record 13 points on a night.

In addition, any competitor breaking a course record for an age Group (some vets will be riding as elites) will be awarded 5 bonus points on the night the record is broken.

3 points will be awarded to the competitor that records the outright fastest in the league in each category.
