Started 18 years ago but missed a few seasons due to work commitments. Q.5 Sporting background? Playing Pool upstairs in Tony’s Bar, does that count?? Q.6 Favourite race? Hell of the West Q.7 Worst race? Dublin City Marathon 1988, after 3months of training and I just give up cigarettes, I just about managed to finish in 4:29min Q.8 Plans for the year? Ironman Switzerland June 24th Q.9 What does your significant other thing about all this training? She’s fine about training for the standard Olympic distance but the Ironman training is another matter! Q.10 Can you remember your first race? Yes, Limerick Tri Club hosted a Tri- Athlon in St Endas, it was usually around Feb/Mar timeframe and was designed for new comers, Explain what happened? I was told to get out of the pool two lengths early because I was so slow, I bike went ok but got lost on the run with another two guys so we just made our way back to St Endas and I still came in last. Q.11 You swim, cycle and run, why not play golf or chess? Some Day I will play golf,,,,,,,,,,,,But not today! Q.12 Who is your race with in a race (the person you like to beat)? The person ahead of me….or Burky (Pat what’s the score now?) Q. 13 Christmas is over did you party or stick to the plan? As I was sick I couldn’t party or train…….bummer dude. Q. 14 The last time you were out on the bike were did you really what to be? On the Bike, nothing like it a 4hr spin around East Clare in driving rain & hailstones at a chilly 6c Q.15 Would you watch JAWS before a sea race? No but not for the reason your thinking off! Q.16 Is there a song that you listen to before you race to get you going? No, I’m too old for that crap. Q.17 What is your pet hate about triathlons? Athletes moaning about the long swim!
