Q.2 Age? 24
Q.3 occupation? Student
Q.4 Marital status? Searching
Q.5 Sporting background? I did everything growing up as my parents wanted me out of the house. Mainly I was into swimming and football
Q.6 Years in triathlon? 5 years but I missed one year through injury
Q.7 Who's your sporting hero? Dougie Hyde, Victor Plata, Steve prefontaine, Sean Kelly and Jan Ulrich
Q.8 Favorite distance and why? I like Olympic distance as it gives me a chance over those super runners out there.
Q.9 Favorite discipline? All three, no particulars
Q.10 Most embarrassing tri moment? Doing lab testing with mark Dempsey. where he kindly named me j-lo. Not for my good looks just the size of my pleasantly plump rear end!!
Q.11 What do you like to indulge in after a bike session? A protein drink and a shower
Q.12 In swim training do you give 5 sec or go before time? Usually ten seconds and then the race is on.
Q.13 Who is your race within a race (who do you like to beat)? Any body in front of me. But on occasions it can be with myself.
Q.14 What's your goal for 2007? Top ten in the Irish rankings with the grace of god.
Q.15 What do you like about triathlons? It is hard and seeing the end result from all the training.
Q.16 What do you dislike about triathlons? I don’t like the pre Madonna’s.
Q.17 What do you remember about your first triathlon? My first race was Joey Hannon where I had a great swim time, out in the top 20 and then all I can remember is lots and lots and lots of people going flying past me. But I was hooked. The feeling of happiness/ relief when I crossed the finish line was brilliant.
Q.18 What advice would you give a new comer to triathlons? Consistent training, little by little, listen to advice from people within the club and enjoy yourself that’s the main thing.
Q.19 Your out running and you see some-one ahead of you do you race after
them or stick on you own? It depends what my coach has me doing. If it is a race I will try to push myself. If it looks like someone I know I will gradually pick it up. No point racing after some one who is doing a completely different session to you. Every training session has a little goal. Stick to it.
Q.20 Why triathlons? Why anything else. There is nothing I love more in the world. The friendships and people you meet are great. The places we race are beautiful and the chance to win is slender but that’s what great about it.
